New Measures for Security and Rehabilitation in Prisons

Prisons are entering a new era with the appointment of a new director focused on enhancing security and rehabilitating inmates. The deputy director has designed programs for drug rehabilitation and treatment for individuals convicted of sexual offenses. The rehabilitation program is already in advanced stages with a budget of €300,000 and is in collaboration with the Anti-Addiction Authority. The goal is to reduce drug demand and prevent recidivism among inmates. Additionally, security measures are being strengthened to prevent the introduction of drugs and other contraband items into the prisons.
