Delays in Forensic Processes and Proposals for Reinforcement

Forensic reports are experiencing significant delays, with many cases remaining open since 2020. This procrastination creates issues for the families of victims and complicates investigations into medical negligence. The understaffing of the Forensic Service and an increase in cases are primary reasons for these delays. Recently, the Ministers of Justice and Health met to discuss solutions. There is a process underway to bolster the number of forensic experts and necessary training to better respond to police needs.
