New Initiatives for Family Support by the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare

The Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Tina Pavlou, presented four new initiatives aimed at supporting families and vulnerable citizens. The significant reform of the Child Allowance includes an increase in support provided and an expansion of income criteria, targeting middle-class families. It is estimated that an additional 17,000 families will be able to qualify for the allowance. Additionally, the plan 'Together with the Baby and the Mother,' which offers material and social support to new families, has been approved. These initiatives are scheduled to begin on January 1, 2027.
