Iris 2026 Exercise and the Integration of New Technologies in the National Guard

The 'Iris 2026' exercise by the National Guard was the first to extensively use drones for reconnaissance and target designation. Greek F-16s and other military units participated, showcasing collaboration and the use of modern technologies. The exercise included live fire and air support aimed at information gathering. Cypriot unmanned aircraft contributed to situational awareness in the operational area. There were also demonstrations of counter-drone systems in the defense sector.
