Challenges of Temporary Classrooms in Schools

October 16, 2026

The Parliamentary Control Committee reviewed the state of temporary classrooms in schools, many of which have become permanent instead of serving a temporary purpose. Serious safety and infrastructure issues persist, with some schools having only one staircase for evacuation and insufficient play areas for children. Additionally, 546 schools have requested fire safety checks, with only 113 of those receiving certification. Although concerns were raised, the Mechanical Engineering Service stated that there is no serious danger in school buildings. Lawmakers and parents have called for better planning and facilities for education.
