Grant Scheme for Reducing Waste in Business Kitchens

The Cabinet has approved a new grant scheme to assist businesses in reducing waste in their kitchens. The aim is to cut down on food waste and other materials, contributing to sustainable development. The scheme offers funding of up to 80% for eligible expenses, with a cap of €20,000 per business. Implementation will start as a pilot in 2027, aiming to support 5-10 businesses. This measure aligns with EU goals for waste reduction by 2030.
