Pharmaceutical companies Moderna and Merck have announced encouraging results for a personalized mRNA vaccine against melanoma. The vaccine appears to reduce the risk of cancer relapse by 42% and the risk of metastasis by 38%. The vaccine is tailored to the genetic mutations of each patient's cancer tissue.
