Trump's Remarks on Norway and the Nobel Peace Prize
October 26, 2026
U.S. President Donald Trump launched a verbal attack on Norway, calling it a 'terrible country' during a political rally. He linked his dissatisfaction over not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize to immigration policy, stating he does not want immigrants from Norway. Despite his comments, there has been no change in immigration policy regarding Norwegians. Norway continues to have a strong economy with a high per capita GDP. The Norwegian government has not officially responded to Trump's remarks.
