Imprisonment for the Fatal Abuse of a Cat

The Court of Appeals sentenced a man from Nicosia to imprisonment for the brutal killing of a cat. The original two-month sentence with suspension was overturned, and the offender will serve his sentence immediately in the Central Prisons. The Appeals Court highlighted errors in the initial decision concerning the suspension of the sentence. The offender had repeatedly struck the cat on the head and discarded it in a trash bin. The Appeals Court concluded that there were no sufficient grounds for the suspension of the penalty.
